Manufacture of High Purity Gases
Many processes and applications require feed gases of the highest purity and quality.
Purities up to 99.99 % can be achieved with HeraPur® catalysts.
For many industrial applications combustion is often the only end-of-pipe technology available for VOC reduction. By using robust and long-life HeraPur®-catalysts, the reaction temperature is reduced significantly. This saves on costs and protects the environment.
Decomposition of Laughing Gas
In the manufacture of nitric acid and also in many medical applications N2O emissions can arise which are harmful for the climate. N2O is completely decomposed into N2 and O2 on HeraPur® catalysts.
Gas Purification in the Production of PET and PTA
Gases contaminated with pollutants arise in the manufacture of PET and PTA. Before they are released into the environment (PTA) or are re-used in circulation (PET), the organic constituents and CO are completely oxidized by contact with HeraPur® to CO2 and H2O.
CO2 from natural sources in particular can contain a large number of impurities such as CO, methane, aromatics, etc.
HeraPur®catalysts remove these substances down to levels which may be below 1 ppm.
Catalysts from the HeraPur®-series make an important contribution to the purification of industrial exhaust gases and the reduction of climatic gases. Heraeus catalysts play an important role in many everyday things, for instance in the manufacture of polymers for beverage bottles and also for purifying carbonic acid obtained from natural sources for use in the food processing industry. HerapPur®-catalysts are also used for the manufacture of high purity gases.
HeraPur®-catalysts are ceramic supports coated with precious and/or non-precious metals. A wide range of different carrier materials such as Al2O3, SiO2, TiO2 in a great variety of shapes such as pellets, spheres and honeycombs serve a large spectrum of catalytic applications.
