Selective Hydrogenation of C3-Fraction
A C3-fraction with high propylene content is generally recovered from steamcracker-plants. This fraction contains varying quantities of methyl acetylene ( propyne) and propadiene. These compounds have to be largely and selectively removed for further processing of the propylene.
The catalysts K-8327 and K-8330N produce „chemical grade“ propylene in a one-step hydrogenation. However, further separation of the green oil will yield „polymere-grade“ propylene.
